A game that takes elements from many genres, and succeeds in execution. Games are fairly hard, but it's a good time getting to the end.
- Mage Knight: Board Game
Worst game I have ever played, IMHO. Long downtime between different players' turn, extremely luck-based, and boring after a couple of games. I game I absolutely do not recommend.
- Arkham Horror
Pandemic is generally liked in my group, and is still fun when you lose. The game can be vicious at times, but everyone will still enjoy figuring out what to do.
- Pandemic
A game with great theme. However, can get very long sometimes. Overall, still very fun, especially if everyone gets into the theme of the game.
- Arkham Horror
The epitome of a party game... for horrible people. Although based on "teenage" humor, it's enough for a good laugh while waiting for a friend or two before playing a "bigger" game. Awesome game!
- Cards Against Humanity
The Resistance is a short game (30') in which players have to bluff and deceive each other in order to make their team win. It's a very fun game, which has quickly become one of our favorites.
- The Resistance
A classic game that can probably be forgotten now that better games can scratch the same itch. It's mechanic is interesting and it's satisfying to flip pieces over, but it's not a great execution.
- Othello
Interesting dynamic and replayability, lots of quality expansions. Nice light strategy game.
- Small World
This game is so random that a friend of mine who hates games won a 6 player game depsite spacing out through the middle and paying virtually no attention to what he was doing. It's funny and light.
- Munchkin
It's the classic "roll-and-move" game that has virtually no interesting decisions, takes too long, and has a run-away-leader-effect. There are better options nowadays.
- Monopoly
It should be called "middle-class white people's life stripped of meaning, choice, and interest." A thoroughly depressing game I managed to love as a child. There are far better kids' games now.
- Life: The Game of Life
Like many games by the great Reiner Kniza, Lost Cities is extremely simple, but the elements are beautifully opposed to each other to create a game full of delightful little challenges. Delectable.
- Lost Cities: The Board Game
A delightful Ameritrash game that could practically be used as an 80's zombie movie generator. The theme and components are wonderful with tons of extras to encourage fan-made scenarios.
- Last Night on Earth
A simple and elegant game with a light theme and a good deal of randomness. A surprising amount of strategy to play with. Tons of replayability, especially because of the changing scoring conditions
- Kingdom Builder
This is a beautiful, elegant, 4X space game. The tension and balance of resource management and between each race is excellent. It's a phenomenal blend of Ameritrash and Eurogame.
- Eclipse
This stand alone Dominion expansion adds a bit of interactivity and complexity to the card pool. Definitely worth getting if you like Dominion or want to play with 6 players.
- Dominion: Intrigue
After playing this daily with 10 year olds, I'll be happy to never play it again. It's a "good" party game, but the magic is gone for me and I much prefer other party games.
- Apples to Apples
Attractive and relatively simple balance between resource management and tile laying. The scoring system is interesting and unique. Tons of expansions.
- Alhambra
I played this game a lot for some period, we were really into it. Alas that was many years ago, but I'd love to get back into it.
- Citadels
A fun party card game. Plays best with seven to eleven people, I guess.
