Great game for the correct group. The game requires a good imagination or else it's a bit boring. Don't play if you have a group that doesn't like to talk too much during a game.
- Gloom
Great gateway game. Simple rules to pickup but offers a lot of replay value. Expansions add more player interaction. The base game feels somewhat like multiplayer solitaire.
- Dominion
A little too random at times as you feel that you can't control what's in the center. Simple gameplay..somewhat good gateway
- Ascension: Chronicle of the Godslayer
Anyone who isn't too sensitive can play, and everyone will have fun and laugh at least a couple times throughout the night. Replay value doesn't seem so great though.
- Cards Against Humanity
It's fun to program your robots and seeing what happens, but the biggest problem with Roborally is that once someone gets ahead of the pack it's almost impossible to take him down.
- RoboRally
7 wonders is one of those games that everyone seems to like. It's fun, quick and you must adapt your strategy as the game progresses if you hope to win.
- 7 Wonders
Easily one of my favorite games. The replay value on this one is what keeps me playing it. Every game you get different combos and develop new strategies. Just got the expansion and love it!
- Small World
I really enjoyed this game the first few times I played. It has some unique elements. Unfortunately the strategy began to feel the same every game. I hear the expansion improves this though.
- 7 Wonders
This has consistently been my favorite game for over 2 years now. And I own and play A LOT of board games. Fairly complex, but most of the people I teach it to enjoy it. We made custom pieces too!
- Agricola
Great ice breaker/get to know you game-as other reviews mentioned, it's all about picking cards for your "reader" ! Some are straight, some are goofy, but if you know your reader, you're golden!
- Apples to Apples
Real fun game that can be played with non-boardgamers as well as gamers. Plenty of strategy in trying to figure out who is what character in a round.
- Citadels
Fun co-op game when you cant get in a game of Arkham Horror.
- Elder Sign
Fun worker placement game with some player interaction.
- Deadwood
Fun worker placement game with some player interaction.
- Deadwood
If there's an experienced player to explain, Quarriors is very easy to learn. The game's all about rolling the dice and luck and that's pretty great.
- Quarriors!
Gloom is a great game for storytellers and the more shy of us alike. It's a pretty simple game to learn and is a really terrific party game. 100% recommended.
- Gloom
Fantastic party game that's as serious as you want to make it.
- The Resistance
This game is deeper than it seems at first blush, and the modular board keeps each game fresh. Varying objectives keeps you on your toes and make sure no two games play exactly the same.
- Kingdom Builder
This is a great game. It turns the players into an Outbreak Committee, trying to determine the best strategy and tactical moves to out maneuver the viruses.
- Pandemic
Simple to learn, pushing your luck and picking the right time to venture down a path is the key to victory. Also, one of the most beautiful boards I've ever seen!
