Dominion has one of the smoothest and most brilliant applications of theme that I can even think of. It manages to be colorful and descriptive, yet mechanically simple and intuitive at the same time.
- Dominion
This *was* one of the better games before the new revision. The latest version is *awful*. Instructions and props are just terrible. Get an earlier version off of eBay for best experience.
- Wiz-War
Amazingly well balanced game. No matter how you start all of the players are in immediate contention with each other which makes this game intense and highly competitive.
- The Settlers of Catan
Classic board game. Easy to sit down and play with anyone. Should be in everyone's closet.
- Scrabble
Play predominantly on the iPad. It eases the setup and makes the game quite a bit more casual that way. I find the strategy pretty easy to work with, but casual games may be challenged.
- Small World
Fast setup, quick play, and easy to get a game up and running and finished without a lot of fuss. Simultaneously, enough depth and strategy to keep everyone engaged.
- Citadels
Still coming up to speed and learning, but even though it's a bit complex, it's a very fun game with a heavy strategic element.
- Mage Knight: Board Game
A fun quick game, but not without any strategy. I like the trading aspect of it and how it forces player interaction.
- Bohnanza
Definitely a game that will last....sidewaYz8
- Mage Knight: Board Game
I love this game. It is a masterful work of art. You can definitely 'game' it, and you can completely shut other players down ; you can come back just as hard. Strokes of combinations - beautiful
- Runewars
The game does recreate the computer game well, and is really a lot of fun. However its a challenge to learn and teach and takes forever to play, but if you have a dedicated group, it can be great.
- Sid Meier's Civilization: The Board Game
A fun take on a travel game kinda like Ticket to Ride. Its pretty casual and easy to teach. I enjoyed it.
- Thurn & Taxis
Mucnchkin can be entertaining (clever card names and drawings) but is lacks any depth. It's a lot like the game Flux with some character management aspects. Note: review based off "Munchkin Zombies".
- Munchkin
Wonderful game to introduce new players to. Rules easy to understand. I enjoy fighting for train routes and blocking those of other players. I would advise buying the europe version instead.
- Ticket To Ride
If you only get one expansion for 7 wonders then this one is a must. The extra diversity makes the game more intense.
- 7 Wonders: Cities
Nice game to introduce to new players. I don't rate this very high because other games I play are far more enjoyable.
- Carcassonne
Wonderful game to introduce new players to. Rules easy to understand. I enjoy fighting for train routes and blocking those of other players.
- Ticket to Ride: Europe
The game is actually simple, but the time pressure and cooperation required makes it very strategic, intense and fun. This is not like any other game I have.
- Space Alert
I've not played a game of this yet which I've enjoyed. I don't get the appeal.
- Munchkin
This is a great game to play 2 to 7 players. The less player the more strategy there is. I enjoy the simultaneous card play which give pace to playing rather than waiting for your turn.
