While intense strategy is at the core, the outcome can all hinge on one lucky outcome in an early~mid game round. True to ASOIAF, this game is a must for fans and strategy gamers alike.
- A Game of Thrones: The Board Game, 2nd Edition
With like (dirty) minded friends, this game is a fun filler between more intense games. After a year (and added expansions) it shows no signs of getting old.
- Cards Against Humanity
Played through one time ensuring we had all the rules down. Took 40 minutes. Immediately needed to play again. At 20 minutes a shot, this game is tons of fun with lots of replay value.
- 7 Wonders
Great spin on the usual board games. Co-op aspect of it is a nice change of pace from the competitive nature of other games. Also just as much fun playing with 2 people as it is with 4
- Pandemic
My first game I picked up. Definitely easily to get friends and family to give it a try. Excellent replay value and great set of expansions
- Dominion
This is our go to party game with friends. Play it over and over with new people and card combinations for a night full of laughter. Love this game and all of their expansions!
- Cards Against Humanity
An intergalactic San Juan (both are tableau-builders), with a role selection mechanic much like Puerto Rico. This game's depth sets it apart, though. Different starting conditions add to replay value.
- Race for the Galaxy
As party games go, this one is definitely a favorite. Gauges creativity and ability to bluff. I would recommend this over the vast majority of similar games.
- Balderdash
Played the game once and then bought it. Very fun tableau-building game, love the theme/design/artwork throughout the components, and it seats as many as 7. Highly recommend.
- 7 Wonders
roll dice and try not to break the bank! similarities to Yatzee! with a dismembered twist!
- Zombie Dice
As you work together to save the world from 4 super diseases, you get a sense of how the mechanics work. This makes it easier to plan your moves and stay on step ahead.
- Pandemic
A really fun game involving having police snitches, the docks, and hitmen. Plays well and can drag fairy easily.
- Mob Ties
Everyone one has played this classic tower stacking game. Protip: play drunk.
- Jenga
An intense adaptation of the best selling game. The locust horde (monsters) are controlled using an if/than programming language on a deck of cards that can make enemy movement somewhat predicable.
- Gears of War: The Board Game
Rude, crude and retardedly offensive. CAH is apples to apples for smashed adults. Amazingly fun with the right crowd.
- Cards Against Humanity
Game play is fresh to start, but gets old quick.
Really simple for kids and fits well with new players.
- Bohnanza
Absolute blast to play! Scales well with more people and the numorous expansions make everything more fun!
Very strategic as well. More experienced players will leave newbies in the dust!
- Carcassonne
Requires more in depth thinking the more you play and learn. Quick to learn and teach.
- Blokus
The Center row of cards is ever changing causing players to adapt on the fly. While it can be as simple or as complex as you want it to be.
