I really like this deck building game. Everyone is always playing, even during other's turns. Its fast paced and research adds a good twist to the standard mechanics. Can get a little repetitive.

Eminent Domain
I love with this game lately. Has a lot of depth in the choices you are making, but it is manageable to teach to beginners. Best parts are that 7 can play at a time and games only last 30 minutes.

7 Wonders
I enjoy this game! It's a nice quick game that can be learned quickly, but can require some more skill/guesswork if you want to think about it. Included expansion gives it good replay value.
-
Citadels
Always a fun game with the family, and always brings out the competitive (and risk taking) spirit. Good times.
-
Greed
My wife beats me every time we play this. Honestly. Its a good mindless game when you still want to carry on a conversation. We usually shorten it though because it gets old after awhile.
-
Skip-Bo
My family always played this game growing up. Too fun to make up definitions of zany words that you've never heard of. It stretches your imagination.
-
Balderdash
A fun party game. Good for a diverse group of people because it involves so many different kinds of "thinking". It always makes us laugh.
-
Cranium
Even though this game can take awhile to play, it always seems short. you never quite have enough time to get done everything you want to do (kinda like real life I guess?) I enjoy the strategy.
-
Agricola
My group of friends played this nearly every day in high school. Its tricky to get that flow of early money, but also be left with the most money at the end. This game makes you nervous as you play.
-
Acquire
I like that this game has different "levels" of expertise. You can learn it quickly, but start to understand the deeper strategy later on. Even when you understand it, its not easy to always win it!
-
Carcassonne
I love this game, mostly because I'm almost always able to win it! The trick is keeping the perfect balance of all of the elements - oh yeah, and don't worry about staying "environmentally friendly"
-
Power Grid
An old classic by now. Its easy to get worked up in this game if there are some competitive people around. Fun to play, but can be intimidating to learn the first time around.
-
The Settlers of Catan
One of my favorites, good game for families. While its fun to play over and over, you also begin to learn that there's one surefire way to win, which gets kinda old sometimes.
-
Ticket To Ride
The strategy behind "conquering" isn't deep, but the strategy behind maximizing your points is really complex with all of the different races and abilities. Fun twist on an old concept.
-
Small World
The game is complex at first to learn, but once you get into it you realize that this is the most simple scoring system ever - you basically just "Buy" your points, and whoever can buy the most wins.
